Curlew Sandpiper_Male breeding
In this birding I was aiming for the Asian Dowitcher but not sighted of it anywhere on the rice field. Few waders instead sighted but most of them so far away and these curlews were the nearest. Now I have seen three plumages of this bird - male, female and juvenile. Happy birding.

Hi Karim, Nice pics!
ReplyDeleteThe Curlew Sandpipers shown here are all juveniles. Did you see the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper mentioned in Azahari's blog?
Selamat Hari Raya, Dave
Any of the birds above are in breeding plumages. They are juvies by the orange hint on the breast.
