Pied Triller (Lalage nigra)

I go to beach again to see how the progress of Fantail incubating beside hoping new bird may appear in the park. Yes! I find not new bird but new nest of Pie Triller. New experiance to see how this triller nest look like. Simply smart this bird build its nest where a few leaves above the nest as shade leaving gap for sun shine to go through. Two birds are seen do by turn incubating the eggs. Happy birding.

Oriental Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris)

While having breakfast this morning Delivering Parcel Service call me for my updating Adobe Photoshop Element 8 and informing that my software will be delivered late today due to many parcels to handover. So mean while waiting, I am going to beach for birds. I am very surprise that this big bird appear flying over me and land on high big tree branch. It lands there for 1 minute probably and fly away.

Spotted this bird as well . Nest is about 10ft above the ground and the bird comes and goes from the nest and I quess eggs are already there inside.

Malaysian Hawk Cuckoo (Cuculus fugax)

It has been collecting 8 cuckoos so far around the state (Plaintive, Violet, Asian drongo, Banded Bay, Brush, Large Hawk, and Indian cuckoos) and Bornean Ground Cuckoo is a dream cuckoo but just may be impossible for me to see one. Anyway hope to find more here. Happy birding.

It is correction to this bird which was I thought Grey-eyed Bulbul. Thanks to Dave Bakewell for comment.

Red-crowned Barbet (Megalaima rafflesii)

This bird is seldom go down from top of the tree. You can get eye-level if there are fruit trees down the slope. This one is more lower down the slope and get a lttle hole to penetrate. Happy birding.

This is a male bird and always seen go with the female. I miss the female.

Black-bellied Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus diardi)

Notice it by the movement of leaves. Only manage I shot. Third times seen in four years since birding. Happy birding.

Make loud sound and quickly notice only by the red-beard color.

Normally at least come in pair or small flock but today is just solo.

Javan Pond Heron (Ardeola speciosa)

The color (cinnamon-rufous) seems turning into adult breeding plumage where it start from the breast.
The spread of wings like this is more easier to identify from Chinese Pond Heron. Here tips 0f wings are less dusky or more whiter than the Chinese Pond Heron.

Scaly-breasted Bulbul (Pycnonotus squamatus)

Trees are growing fruits now and it seem birds beginning to come though not many seen but there are birds to binocular in search new birds to add the bird list. Today I manage to find two lifers the Scaly-breasted bulbul and Van hasselt's or Purple-throated sunbird. Happy birding.
