Nightjars of the world.

I am painting my home fence this morning and while painting a postman comes and delivers this book to me. It is a "Nightjars of the world" book. It is an excellent book. Four of my frogmouth photographs are selected and published in this book.

Love the beauty of this bird. I frame one and hang inside my house.

Happy Reading.

A female Banded Kingfisher.

I could birding for half a day yesterday due to heavy down fall. I only managed to find a female of Banded Kingfisher and a colorful grasshopper. Then I went to beach and there was also rain. I drove back home then.
A new pattern of quite colorful Grasshopper I saw in the field with yellow and red on the long jumping legs and orangish at tips of its antennae. It has two long yellow lines above and as seen just below the compound eye and just above of the walking legs and below the scale of thorax.
I can't identify very well and I quess it is a juvenile of Scaly-breasted Munia. Shot it 2 days ago.
Happy birding.

Brown Barbet (Caloramphus fuliginosus)

I am shooting under the drizzling rain to all these birds. I take a bit hard time covering my camera with plastic bag to avoid rain water get into it. The weather at the birding area, the whole day drizzling and birds sometimes come very near and have to come out from car to shoot these birds. The Brown Barbet is very well close to me.
Jambu Fruit Dove, (Ptilinopus jambu)
A female bird. I quess around these 3 months period is mating season for birds here in Borneo because I see many birds flying together in pairs and some are building their nest too also in pair. Like these Doves are always together . Chest-nut Scimitar-babbler are seen chasing one other are also in pair. What a romance they have now!!!
