It is a 15cm (6 inches) long bird and claimed the smallest raptor in the world. It is found in Northern part of Borneo. Its normal habitat perching on high branch of dead trees.
After 2 weeks later new generation of herons born and still a few pairs collecting materials to build their nests. They are helping one another. When one get tired, another take over building the nest. Like this one is partially completed.
Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)
Here seen two chicks. Probably they are about few days old.
Unexpectedly able to spot the female of this bird perching on the high branches of a tall tree.
Often heard its sound passing above but never know where it landed. It flies so fast.
Jambu Fruit Dove. It is a female bird. Just happy to see it preening without scare of my present. Black and Yellow Broadbill. This is a male bird. The female is having a break black breast-band. Happy birding.
It is been about 2 months I do not go for birding. Much time spent watching world football games now. Last night I slept early as soon as Houndras vs Chile game was over. I feel okay this morning and I go birding. A bit dark or over-shadow at birding place and many sound of birds heard but seen a few.
Asian Fairy-bluebird (Irena puella). Never been better with this bird before. This is my best capture.
Jambu Fruit-dove (Ptilinous jambu)
Grey and Buff Woodpecker (Hemicircus concretus). My lifer!
These birds are busy building and making right twigs in comfortable position. On the left is Rufous Night Heron and the other on the right is Black-crowned Night Heron. Many of them nesting on the tall trees. Very pleasing seeing them up there which very much away from disturbance from the people passing. Now I am looking forward for the coming of their chicks.
