Little Heron

It is striated or mangrove or little Heron. Had read in internet it has about 10 names. One of common birds that can be found here in Kota Kinabalu. Happy birding.

Pied Triller

 Another common garden bird that acompanied me while waiting for waders. Happy with it though no new waders spotted. This is a male bird. Happy birding.

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker

The scarlet color run down from forehead to rump is just glossy shine and attractive . What can not pass it is its "tissit tissit" sound. This is a male bird. Happy birding.

Great Egret

Taken sometimes on August, 2009. Good birds for shooting practice. Common bird and can be seen all year round on shores, paddyfields and magroves. Happy birding.

Ashy Tailor Bird

One of the skittish little birds. It is actively foraging along with thrilling sound especially in the morning. Common but hard to photograph because its activeness. This bird is female. Happy birding.

Rufous Night-heron

Black-crowned Night Heron
These are easy birds to take this morning. They are reduce in number as I see it and most probably some of them already moving away to another place. It is difficult to find these birds unless you know their resting place. Pix 5 to 7 from top  is Juvenile. Happy birding.

Spotted Dove

Nice to see flocks of  doves resting on the dry paddy stalks. They flew to all directions to rescue themselves when they saw Brahminy kite hovered above them. Happy birding.
