Chinese Pond Heron

After the Brahminy kites, suddenly it appeared walking proudly on the cut-paddy stalk. But at home I have hard time to identify it as it could be JAVAN POND HERON too. I finally take the 4th picture for the clue for Chinese. The colored wing tips and the brown streaked head are the descriptive for the Chinese Pond Heron. Comments are welcome. Thx. Happy birding.

Ruddy Turnstone

Today I see a few Ruddy Turnstone on the shore. They are very active foraging and non stop moving as well. I have to go down onto the sandmud and sit and wait for these birds to come near. They never stay still. I take their photographs while they are moving. Quite tiring to tracking them. Many shoots made and these are the best I can manage. Happy birding.

Lesser Sand Plover

Greater Sand Plover
Not many waders today on the shore and I took whatever available. My aim was Ruddy Turnstone but they were far scattered on the very big area of the shore. It was only dot like on my camera LCD when I tried to photograph them. May be next time I have better chance taking this bird nearer.  The last photo the bird was pulling the sand worm out from the sandmud OR our Malay local name is PUN PUN and local people use this worm also for fishing bite. Happy birding.
